I drove out of the lake at 6:15 this morning and headed to Scranton. About 20 minutes into the trip, I wondered, "Did Jim remembered to put Laura's baby shower gift in the way back?" I pulled off to the side of the highway to check. Darn! The car seat was NOT there. I whipped around and headed back to the lake. Jim met me at the exit and put the large box in my car. I'm sorry to say I was NOT a happy camper! I peeled out only to stop 15 minutes later for gas! Three hours later, I got dressed and put my make up on at a rest stop. As soon as I got back on the highway, my car started to wobble. AGAIN I pulled off to the side of the highway to check! Darn! I had a very, very flat tire. Really?! Was that necessary? Luckily, exit 159 on I 81 was just ahead and I slowly made my way to the gas station a mile away from there. I called roadside assistance. They would be there within an hour, well after the start of the shower and I was still 30 minutes away. (This is where the day gets better.) Lucky, guys from Arborpro tree care company pulled into the station and offered to change my tire. I declined at first but I accepted 10 minutes later when he offered again after filling his tank with gas. He declined payment. I owe him a "good Samaritan" review. I was NOT the last to arrive at the shower, but quite possibly, the one that most needed the mimosas that were being offered. Once I calmed down, I thoroughly enjoyed the company and the delicious meal. Peggy called John and he found a place that would either repair or replace my tire. The tire was replaced; and after a short visit with them, I drove back to the lake. Thankfully, it was uneventful!
