Thun Schloss

This is the best known landmark of Thun, it can be seen for miles as you approach the city as it stands on the highest point of the valley floor. The keep(tower) was built in the 12 century and then extended at a later date, you can actually see where the addition in the pic as the lower part is a rougher finish. It now houses a very interesting museum, with access to the roof space. Last year the more modern wings (built 1429) have been converted into a hotel. In the foreground you can see the old city wall, there is only a small section remaining.
