Bruce Thanks, Craig! Agreed about Scott Bourne - at his talk he said his life's goal was to educate others and "speak for the birds". Also, interesting side note; he shot Canon for years and had to have 11 shoulder surgeries from carrying a 600mm lens and tripod around. He switched to Olympus a couple of years back and is now an Olympus visionary, and says he's able to continue to do what he loves as a result.
craig 11 surgeries, that really is dedication!
Bruce Thank you, Matsuo! :-)
Katrina Yu Bruce, your still life photos are really impressive. They're simple but SO SO MOODY!!!!!
Bruce Thanks, Katrina - I probably was influenced by Renaissance painters (that I learned about from a university course I took in the History of Western Thought) who painted still life subjects using dramatic lighting.
Bruce See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Still_li... :-).
Katrina Yu Oh what a wonderful source of inspiration!! You might like this artist too (still life and dramatic lighting); darjanpanic.com/photography/ro...
Bruce Very cool! I like his dramatic lighting, plus he uses bright colours and lighter shadows. Thanks for the link! :-)
craig Wow you have nailed those still life shots!
BTW Scott Bourne takes bird shots to die for!
