The Ruined St Anthony's Chapel

I wanted to post a landmark shot for the week theme but did not want to use the obvious one of Edinburgh Castle. Whilst I did post a shot of this a while ago I thought I would post another for the theme. This ruin which looks more like an old fortified tower is actually the remains of an old chapel. It sits high above St Margaret's loch in Holyrood park not far from the centre of Edinburgh. Little is known about the chapel which dates back at least to 1426 when the Pope gave money for it's repair. The last chaplain is recorded in 1561 after which it fell into it's current ruined state.
