Best gift ever. Not the broken lamp, but the cardboard house he got from aunt and uncle. Seriously, I haven't seen him having so much fun with any other "toy" so far.
Still shooting with the E-M5 and as you can see it's a picture of my son... again. So here's my thoughts on why the E-M5 is so much fun for me to shoot with.
I simply don't care about that camera. I don't mind breaking it. Getting it wet, dirty or greasy. I don't mind someone else using it. And because of that, using wide angle lens, I take closeup photos of my son who (surprise, surprise) gets everything wet, dirty or greasy.
And he also uses the E-M5, having a blast pressing the shutter button and we both laugh at the photos he takes. I'd never let him take the X-T20 - and that's the problem with that camera.
So my advice for any young parent - get a cheap, used camera. A camera that your kid can take with its' greasy little hands and take a pic of you once in a while.
