jazzie The subject you photographed is an everyday-subject which doesn't make it interesting at the first glance. And that makes it interesting for a photographer, if you make something out of it! With your pic you're saying: 'look, this is a switched-on-switch'. I think I would have tried to make it look more interesting by using a more dynamic composition (diagonal, and what about incorporating the curvy line in the background which is actually corresponding to the shape of the switch?) or a more static composition (exactly from above so the black shape is right-angled). And I'd play around with light. I'm sorry about giving you a bit a negative feedback for this one, but I think the danger of this feedback-page is that those pics that do need most feedback won't get any feedback at all because it is not easy to say something positive.

Second: When I uploaded the photo, I looked at it again... I had a feeling that it may be too 'simple', but I wasn't sure about what exactly should be changed. What you have just wrote expresses what could be done to make it more extraordinary -- exactly what I was hoping for! I will try to retake it. I will try to take your suggestions into account.
