ponzu It's nice of Tookapic to offer to add a watremark to our uploads. Personally, I would never consider this option, even with my most commercially attractive attempts. It is hard to enjoy the photo with it, it's like having a speck in your eye.
There must be a name for these sort of photos. I take them all the time and I post them if I have nothing else to post. To myself, I call them "playing around". It's part the joy of recognizing good light, part composition practice, part hope of dazzling someone who is seeing a backlit plant for the first time. It's like when you open a beer. You remember all the beers you had before, you very first beer when you were a kid and didn't yet like beer. You open a beer and you are enjoying it already, part smell, part anticipation, part memory. But if you show the photo of a beer to someone, they will not have the same reaction unless they are drinking with you. And maybe they already had enough beer today, so they don't even want to smell or hear about your beer. Do you know what I mean? These shots are fun to take and marvel at how well they came out, but it is not likely that someone will be tempted to steal it.

Paweł Kadysz I was so tempted to go outside to shoot today. It was a first really nice frosty morning this season I think. Funny that it's been taken around 9 am and the sun is still so low. Anyway, great pic!
