ponzu I think everyone should take a lot of these to study lighting, depth of field, composition. I always struggle personally with finding plain composition "in the wild". I have not yet worked on creating them artificially in my own environment, and if I do, I don't know if this skill will translate into shooting, say, street, where everything is hectic. Still, it seems a worthwhile exercise.

The shot feels overexposed to me. What do you think?

Also, I always think whether a shot such as this has potential as a stock photo. What would it represent? A tight group? A team? Diversity? I think there is potential.

m_rudziewicz I agree, the shot is overexposed. I wanted to expose the wooden texture of pencils, but I exaggerated.
To be honest I didn’t think much about the meaning of this photo while I was taking it. It was just a streak photo taken because I had no other ideas that day :) But I really like all three ideas given by you, especially the one about the diversity.
