The backbone of the heavens [day 216]

Taking shots like this are just excuses for me to past some time in a silent and dark place, enjoying the stars and feeling their light.

It's something that helps me restoring a balance between me and whole universe.

Nice photos are just a side effect of the calm and the focus of those nights with the stars.

To take this shot I took first a set of 10 60 seconds shots for the landscape, and then a set of 25 60 seconds shots for sthe sky, tracked with a Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer Mini mount, both with a Canon 550D and a 24 mm lens.

To help reduce the effects of skyglow and light pollution I put a Hoya Red Enhancer filter on the lens.

Each set of photos has been developed in Lightroom Classic CC and then median-stacked and tuned in Photoshop. Finally I merged the sky and the landscape from each set of shots, to create this final image. Final color grading in Lightroom Classic CC.
