The anglican parish church of Saint John the Baptist, stands on the Northern edge of the bustling town of Burford, known as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds'. It was described by David Verey as "a complicated building which has developed in a curious way from the Norman", and was used as a prison during the Civil War.
