The first day of pilgrimage Białystok-Grodno-Wilno.
This year I took part in pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn (Vilnius) through Belarus and Lithuania. This kind of pilgrimage (where a significant group of people is hiking together to a place of special worship and cult) is quite popular in Poland among religious people. This one is special as it is international and pilgrims try to stay for night rest among people living at the intermediate places on the way. Also for this particular pilgrimage is very nice to see how people share their food with pilgrims on the way asking to pray for them. It is an opportunity to meet Polish people living in Belarus and Lithuania.
It took 9 days to get to Vilnius. The first day was the toughest - we hiked ~47 km. But after that it was getting easier.
Audie 47 km!!! That’s incredible. Well done! Sounds like an amazing experience.
