Ticket to Ride

I am finding the daily post quite testing at the moment; I have been blaming lack of opportunity but I’m coming round to thinking it is actually due to lack of motivation. Take today as an example, taking first photos of the day at 9.30pm. Have I had other opportunities? Well yes, obviously; as I got up at the normal time. Walked the dog, had breakfast and put the washing on, picked mother up for coffee in a nearby village where we buy our bread at the weekend, a few more jobs around home before light lunch. I then walked the dog [same route, under the same very grey sky] before nipping to the supermarket to get a bit of fruit and veg. Photographs not allowed in Sainsburys. Few more domestic bits and bobs …… got supper ready …. board game in front of log fire with husband and son in the evening. Absolutely nothing that I have neither blipped or tookapic’d before. So has my day been too busy, too boring, too routine, void of opportunity, or have I just lost my motivation, being in a “I can’t be bothered” phase. Wonder if it is time to call it a day? See how I feel tomorrow.

jewels I can relate so much to what you are saying. There are moments when you feel that instead of developing your creativity, it is actually killing it... sometimes just pushing through another day is what you need to find the will to go on. Btw, it is a great pic 😊

tigg Thanks for the encouragement and sympathy. I admit that I do sometimes feel envious of the group who live around lake Geneva: there is so much inspiration there, always a view if nothing else. The sense of community on tookapic is very different to that on blipfoto, where, incidentally, you cannot like a photo from the thumbnail but actually have to click on and visit the actual posting. Consequently, the title and text become an integral part of the whole experience. You can have 20 likes or more on this site, and no-one has actually viewed the photograph ...
The other thing I did not mention above is that I find I have very little time to get fully engaged, I keep the number I follow quite low as I cannot regularly look at that many photos. Which, inevitably, is reflected in the feedback I get. Maybe I need to change my approach.
