This little turreted 2 story building dates back to the time of Mary, Queen of Scots and according to legend it is supposedly where Mary used to "bathe in sweet white wine".
However, in reality, it is more likely that the strange little building was used as a summer pavilion or dovecot as It was once attached to a boundary wall, enclosing the King's Privy Garden. The Royals would possibly have used it as summer house.
