I had another idea for today's photo but when I put back recently read book I realized that I have some orange ones.
But first: if you didn't read books "Halina" and "Wanda" about polish woman mountaineers, first of their kind (Halina Krüger-Syrokomska was first European woman above 8000m, Wanda Rutkiewicz was first Pole and third woman on Mount Everest), I can only recommend them. They were written in great style and really reliable.
And now, going back to my #theme-orange books: it revealed that all of them are somehow important for me. Going from top:
- One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - first I've saw the movie, then I read the book. One of the most significant novels I've ever read.
- Jadąc do Badabag - novel by polish writer Andrzej Stasiuk. It's specific kind of writing, I have a feeling that he's writing with pictures not with stories.
- Within the Frame by David duChemin - one of the most significant photographic book I've read. Maybe because I somehow identify myself with travel photography. And maybe because his style and attitude complied with mine? Nevertheless it was worth reading, I've bought his another books but none of them make such impression as this one
- Color by Michael Freeman - this is the one I don't have much to say about :D
- Robert Plant: A live by Paul Rees - I was raised on Led Zeppelin music, Plant was my first favorite vocalist - and it stays like that till now. I was able to be on his concert tree times and I'll take any opportunity to see him again. It's amazing how this by then 20-years old boy could change the world of music.
- Adam Bielecki: Spod zamarzniętych powiek - a story of polish mountaineer that recently take part in saving Elizabet Revol on Nanga Parbat, written as he personally is telling the story. I was in quite high mountains (like base camp altitude) but I can't still image the scale of difficulties that you can face up there in Himalayas.
Dorka Smaczna wieża 😉😊
