On an otherwise grey and dull day, a flock of Evening Grosbeaks visited the feeders today.
One of my non-photography goals for 2021 is to build a solid 5MR list. Basically, how many different species of birds can I find within a five mile radius of home. That might seem like a big area, but truth be told I only have few different habitats. Lots of woodlands, some wetlands, a few fields.
So far in 2021, without very much effort I might add, I’m up to an overwhelming EIGHT different species. There are some I’m certainly going to be adding to the list (grackles, robins, and crows) and there’ll be others that I’ll have to work for (orioles, kingfishers, and sandpipers). Also, there will be some that’ll be damn near impossible to get again (looking at you Varied Thrush).
120mr Interesting idea, the list.
