Teresa yes it is and in fact it's hard to work with it. I'll do some syrup and a jam with apples. With thermomix it's a bit easier ;)
tigg Sounds interesting. It is the peeling and coring I find so hard. I have read about Thermomix - I would love to hear more and how you use it …. How often too.
Teresa for syrup i don't peel (especially that the most C vitamin is in the peel), just wash thoroughly and remove the seeds and cut for small pieces (i use thermomix for that to get small chunks), cover with sugar (layer of quince then sugar ten quince and till the end of jarr), wait one day and you'll get liquid. But yes, peeling is irritating!
