The usual 3 heron were around today. They were all pretty jumpy and a bit unsettled. The little female (pictured) landed on the viewing platform and the nervy male landed in the water closeby.they both took off when someone went by then returned when they had passed. After I had fed them I went to the clearing (the adult male was not in his hiding place), on the way there, close to the male's hiding place I saw that they had been felling trees, must have been very noisy for them so it is hardly surprising they were jumpy.
When I reached the clearing the adult male landed on a branch in the middle of the loch but did not come over. The little female arrived so I fed her. Eventually the adult male came over but didn't get much as I had very little left.
The crows had biscuits.
