There were 8 heron today. They 6 were waiting on the slope for a change. I could not see the little female at first until she flew over and chase the others away. The chick was not there either. I started feeding them giving extra to the little female. I then spotted the chick flying over. It landed and chased an adult away. I thought I had better feed her before she had a go at the little female. However it was the opposite today The little female spotted her and had a go at her. This time it was the little female who came out on top. I was able to feed a little to the chick if I distracted the little female, however the chick had another go at the little female and was chased off the slope. I made my way to the clearing where the male was waiting and a bit behind him was the chick (pictured) looking very subdued. I was able to give the chick a little bit more but the adult male was in control. Not as many crows but they all got biscuits.
