There were 8 heron today, like yesterday I only recognised 4, the little female, the male adult, the original young one and Jekyll. The shot is the little female.They all had a good feed and followed me to the waters edge where the coots were waiting.
There appeared to be another adult coot along with my usual 2, her chicks were a lot older. They are quite amazing in that they do not fight but wait patiently for the fish which is taken to the chicks. They are starting to cluck to let me know they are there. When I turned round I was surrounded by 6 heron, the adults having flown back to the nest to feed the chicks. I think there are 2 nests.
