There were 6 heron around today, which is very good for a weekend. The little female, the adult male, the original young one, and Jekyll were the ones I recognised although a couple of the others are looking familiar. I got my first sighting of one of this years "chicks" as it flew and circled overhead before landing on the viewing platform (pictured). I knew it would fly off if I got too close so the shot is not that great. It will come closer eventually as it gets more confident and curious.
There was 1 coot (not one of my regulars but I am not that concerned as the wildlife behaves differently at the weekend.
