Daniel Zaleski Anita, thank you for the comment and kind words! It is the old Russian Helios 44M-4 - a 58mm f/2,0 lens, i.e. the classic standard lens. It is quite famous for the swirly bokeh, I think my copy is a very good examply. These lenses were made in millions and in different locations over decades; there are many versions labelled 44, 44M, 44M-2 up to 44M-7. It is said that the 44M-7 {most recent) are the sharpest. Some claim that the 44M-2 version has the most "magical' swirly bokeh, but sometimes it is said about 44M-4 as well. I think that it really depends on location and maybe production run, over all it was Russian communistic mass production. I think it is a great portrait lens. Mine was purchased by my father in Russia in 80s and I used the camera (Zenit) with this lens at the beginning of my photography adventure some 25 years back ... :) If you wish I can write in Polish, it is quite long and maybe confusing; I just try to make it comprehensible to all the other English speaking tookapicers. Have a great day!
