Roof of St Pancras Station

Opened in 1868; designed by George Gilbert Scott. British Rail wanted to demolish it in 1966, but was [fortunately] saved after a massive campaign led by architectural historian Niklaus Pevsner and poet John Betjeman. The station was listed Grade I in November 1967.
