craig Hi I am not sure what other settings you are interested in. I think it is really a mix of settings and technique. I tend to have my 70-300 lens permanently fixed to my camera. I usually have a fast shutter speed of 1/800 or more depending on what I am shooting (Tern are often better faster) . I use shutter priority mode on my camera as I have enough on my hands focusing the shot. I then select a bird and track it whilst zooming in. When I am happy I take the shot. There was a strong wind with this shot so the gulls were fighting it or gliding so I dropped the shutter speed a lot as they were slower than normal. Hope this helps a bit.
