agnieszka bladzik the shuter might not be designed by olympus for tookapic purpose ;) had some problems with mine as well

Ian Prince Yeah, I remember reading the issues you had in the past. Apparently the E-M5 is rated at 100'00 shutter actuations. Mine is at 20'000 so should be good for many more years. I know others with E-M5s who have never had the problem, so I'm guessing it's a quality-control issue.

agnieszka bladzik yes can be, I really hope my new em10 will work better :)

Ian Prince I really nice camera from what I've read about it.

Satoshi T good luck!

Ian Prince Thanks :)

Kateli Crossing my fingers for you !!

Ian Prince Thanks. I'll post an update when I get her back. Yes, she's a she ;)

Grace Hope it will be all good! Lately the first shot I take when I first turn mine on turns out black, not sure why that is..

Ian Prince Thanks. Mmmm, is yours still under warranty? I registered mine and got a 6 month extension for free. Which turned out to be the smart thing to do as it's now 28 months old....

Grace Nope, I think even if I had registered it, would have expired by now, can't quite remember how long I've had it,

Ian Prince From what I've been hearing and depending on the problem the repairs can sometime be done free of charge outside of the warranty period.

Grace Yes I've emailed Olympus NZ, all I've had so far is the auto response, so hopefully they reply soon

Kazzi I wonder which service center she will visit - Portugal or Czech? :) Waiting for an update after homecoming :)

Ian Prince Yeah, it will be interesting. Do you know what the typical turn-around time is? In any case I'll keep you posted.

Kazzi It should be back up to three weeks including transport, but from our experience 14 days term (+- 2 days for international transport) is rarely exceeded.

Kazzi You can also write an e-mail to Swiss Olympus department and ask if they could provide a camera for the time Your E-M5 is in service, like eg. Mark II or the first E-M1 - I know You're not in an urgent need with Stylus 1s and Your Lumia, but since they probably have plenty of cameras for scholarships, workshops etc., there's a great probability You'll get one for two weeks - free of charge. I asked Olympus promoter for a contact, sent my personal ID scan and data via e-mail and the next day I had E-M5 II with 60mm macro at my door in December. Just pssst... don't tell anyone ;)

Ian Prince Thanks for the heads-up about the turn-around time, it sounds reasonable.

Ian Prince I might just try that. From what I'm hearing Olympus seem to really take good care of their customers.

Ian Prince Just called Olympus Europe. Apparently spare bodies are only given out for owners of E-M1MkIIs... I guess I need to talk to an "Olympus promoter" instead ;)

Kazzi I don't have contacts in Switzerland... that's right, for PRO SERVICE they supply a spare body - but there is always a probability, that we can arrange something :D

Ian Prince Checking the status today it said : "Szybkie sprawdzenie statusu naprawy", so I guess it's not Portugal ;)

Kazzi I asked at Olympus Poland if they have any contacts in Swiss Olympus, but the reply was negative :(

Ian Prince Oh, that's sweet of you @Kazzi. Thanks for trying anyways :)

Ian Prince Olympus service is the best: "I <3 Olympus" :)
