Katrina Yu Thanks Magda!

Ron Dadoo ah yes! very good!! tipically Katrina!!!

Katrina Yu Ahah! I like this comment. :D

Alek Jedliński I am constantly amazed by your photos Katrina :) If I may ask, how much time do you spend on setting up the shot and editing? These often feel quite complicated.

Katrina Yu Thank you, Alek! 😊

Well, it depends on a lot of things.
I shoot really fast maybe around 15 mins in an afternoon break and then edit late at night for 1 to 2 hrs, depends on how complicated the piece is.

There are certain types of edit that I've grown comfortable with, like this levitation one, where I shot for 15 mins and edit for a bit over an hour. If I know what I'm doing then it's faster for me. Shooting is the same too, if I know the pieces I need then I can take it.

If the day is really busy I would revert to hand photos. Héhé they are what you consider as streak pics. :P Hand photos for me are so easy, they will just take me 30 mins shoot and edit.

If I'm trying something new then it would take me 2 to 3 hours some times just figuring things out. For instance, this one ("384 Monochrome - Blue"), made me take a 2-hour break in between. I need to just stop and come back with fresh eyes to figure out how to color it that way. (It was turning it into black and white and filling it with color to get the right tone, btw.)

This, ("364/365 Glasses Hide Puffy Eyes"), is just a simple portrait that took me 5 shots but I spent over 3 hours just to figure the colors out (I was aiming for a Ben Thomas feel). That one though I didn't quite get it right, I had one that was quite similar to his style that he retweeted so that means he approves! aha! (though I don't know how to do it again 😩) imgur.com/a/khlHu

So to summarize it's a total of 4 hours including upload time, 2 cups of coffee, and a real heavy dose of motivation per day. 😂

Alek Jedliński That's so interesting and informative :) thanks for giving us a peek into your process. As I'm not that well versed in PS, I guess this kind of editing would take much more time for me. But if there's one thing you show with your photos, it's that the edit is equally important as a good capture. And I like the colors from your Imgur photo, emulating them must be an interesting challenge :)

Katrina Yu Thank you so much, Rafal. Happy you liked it.
