makebate Thank you for your opinion! Actually, there is no flat lay photo, which i percieve natural looking, so I don't expect that from them. While taking some flat lays I am not trying to make it look natural, but maybe I should, this would improve it somehow. Why I post this under feedback? i wasn't satisfied from it at the very begining, and I know I could do it better with a little bit more effort. Anyway, while looking at this picturw right now, I have feeling that sth is wrong with it, but I don't know what exactly. Maybe it is what you have just said - lack of naturalness. Anyway, thanks once again! :)
makebate Mhm, so let me clarify, you mean on this flatlay I have not enough space? Is it too packed here? Thanks for feedback! <3
makebate It was my purpose to take it that tightly, but maybe it is too much?
Katrina Yu I'm in the minority here. I love the tight crop. It's intimate. I have trouble with cropping on my photos too because I always want to have that space and more space! To crop it tight like this, it's different but it's not bad. And this turned out really good. The crop gives it a very cinematic feel and it's beautiful. (I can't even talk about how obsessed I am with this blue)
makebate Thank you, I am glad you like it. But I have some problems with tight frame in fl. Thats why I wanted to work on it. I guess those are just personal attitudes
ponzu I like these arrangements and this angle. I have never attempted this myself, so I have respect for anyone who does them. This shot looks a little underexposed to me. The arrangement looks artificial, but in a way that betrays an attempt to make it look natural. I like when the still-life look natural, as if someone just left things where she last used them, or completely synthetic, like the famous 'knolling'. If you are okay with this composition looking artificial, then there is nothing wrong with it. But if you are trying to create a believable scene, like "I have just put down this book" or "I am about to pick up this book and tea", then something is out of place. Maybe the cup handle should be turned out. Maybe the scarf is too conveniently wrapped around the cup. What do you yourself think? It is always good to know why an author is requesting feedback.
