It's always exciting to come upon a ghost sign like this one, overlooking a schoolyard in San Francisco's Chinatown, and then learning about it in the well documented map here:
sfist.com/2015/05/28/the_ghost... The WHY? is part of a coffee advertising slogan for MJB Coffee that dates all the way back to 1910.
