eventide Maybe not very serious, but: youtube.com/watch?v=i82nsxLPUg... :D
Krzysztof Maciejewski "Only a true friend would be that truly honest" - this is great response :-)
eventide Yes, I paid attention to this quote (one more time!) when I was watching that scene before adding a link to the comment... And - because of that - I watched it three times :P
Bruce Fantastic shot, for a second I thought it was a sea urchin that exploded :-)
eventide Thank you, Bruce :) Well, it's well - known that animals have fantastic skills of adaptability, so I wouldn't be surprised, if it was a sea urchin, which changed water background to overland conditions ;)
Shawn I think this is datura stramonium, (would need to see whole plant to identify) which goes by many different common names including Jimson Weed, Devil's Cucumber, etc. One of my favorite things to photograph.

I've checked it and I'm barely sure, that you're right and it's datura. In Polish it's name is bieluń dziędzierzawa, but it has also many regional names (still used): gypsy herb, pig louse, stupid turnip or angel's trumpet.
It's hard to believe, that so inconspicuous plant can be so dangerous.
Krzysztof Maciejewski A nice photo and a nice description. It often happens that lonely people grow invisible spikes that others can see.
