Smoke Dance

Today my daughter had a dance show and I took a lot of photographs. Unfortunately most of them are terrible, blurry, dark, I'm so disappointed. I tried different settings, manual, AF, auto....just a few of them were acceptable. I still don't know what I did wrong. Was it the light that was too poor? Anyway, this shot is a beautiful accident that I really like but that I would be unable to do again ^^

Bruce The lighting was probably really low, so I'd probably shoot at a pretty high ISO, maybe 12800 or higher and 50mm lens with a f1.8 or f1.4 aperture and get at least 1/50sec shutter speed. Or higher ISO and faster shutter speed if there is a lot of movement. I hope that helps! :-)
