This is Boston Marathon medal. All the emotions. I'm actually having a hard time putting Monday into words. In my dreams, my race consisted of conquering the Newton hills and finishing strong, running under a clock that said something less than 3:30:XX. The reality was that my heart was broken before I even made it to Heartbreak Hill.
I truly belive that maratons are about more than finish times. They push you, challenge you, and draw unexpected strenght out of the deepest part of you.
Crossing the finish line of a marathon is always earned and never, ever a given.
I gave it my absolutele best for the day - I am confident of that. But somentimes your best for the day isn't what expected ... That is the hard part about marathons.
It doesn't make me any less proud but it can make it a harder pill to swallow :-)
So, thank you Boston. No marathon has ever evoked so much emotiones or so many tears as you have. I'm not done with you yet ... Until next time :-)
Marcin Bujacz Congratulations!
