My favourite internet comics drawer - followed since 2005. Yep, half of my life I've been reading his onlineworks.
Konrad is one of those people, that have no idea about how much influence they had on my life.
Duh! Huge part of my sense of humour is a bow to this person ;-)
He has always been a source of good movies, books, music, anime, computer games - and much, much more. Also, he's one of those people doing lots of stuff I wanted to do, especially in terms of sports - climbing, martial arts like capoeira, juggling, snowboarding...
I'm not even sure, if my first opportunity to try longboarding was seized with such enthusiasm because I knew, that he also skates.
And during those 15 years we have seen each other personally like... five times, four of during last 3 years?
But I remember the moment in 2007, when I went for a festival in Wrocław and he managed to get me a really cheap place to sleep in a guest room of his dormitory (of the Fine Arts Academy) - and I invited him to come for a Lao Che concert. That's how we met in person.
On the other hand, I got to know Monika last year - and She's (co-)responsible for "Rusz Lenia" (Move the idler / Move the sloth) and "Keep pushing the spring" - Wrocław's sport meetups and competitions, dedicated to elicitation of local youth (and integrating local longboard community like nothing else),
[Since it's a very, very small world - when I moved to Wrocław last year, one of my two new flatmates - Elwira - has just moved in... from living with that cute couple pictured above.]
And imagine, that after seeing their Facebook wedding event - "Miłość w czasach zarazy (Love in the times of plague)"
where they really asked their friends to stay home and promised a live-stream on YT - I got a personal invitation from them to be a part of THAT day of their lives.
In THE tightest restrictions-filled weeks of COVID-19 lockdown.
As one of 8 people, that were there. And four, that were waiting under registry office, watching that part on a livestream.
And it didn't matter, that gathering in a number higher than 2 people was at that time FORBIDDEN under 30.000pln (8000$) fine.
Or it didn't matter, than my suit, or even an elegant shirt, stayed in Cracow - I didn't expect to go for a wedding.
When something like this happens, You take your longboard, camera, reflector - and go.
Even in a hoodie.
Last but not least, it took place on 04.04.20.20 (double 420!)...
Monika! Konrad! All the best - and please, forgive me, that it took 40 days for me to send You first part of photos from that day. More are yet to come.
Love You both.
bizon Wooow! How a crazy story :D Love it. Wish them all the best <3
