ponzu Thank you, This is a prime manual lens, so no zooming. There is a digital focus assist zoom function on the camera, but it was not working for me in the field. When using an autofocus lens, the focus assist zoom turns on automatically when the focusing ring is turned. With a manual camera, it had to be activated with a combination of buttons, and it proved to me that I don't know my camera sufficiently, so this is a good challenge. Focus peaking, for sure, but it is very deceptive/generous/optimistic. It shows so much yellow all over the flower that I get an impression everything is in focus. It needs to be more selective. I ran into the same issue taking portraits with this lens. I have a new tripod that allows to invert the center column and take photos close to the ground, such as this photo was taken, but I need to break out the manual or some YouTube videos and learn how to do it. Again, the whole point of this 365 project for me is to learn ALL of my equipment. The photo are just illustrations to my progress. Thanks for good tips!
Alek Jedliński Have you tried zooming in to confirm focus and using focus peaking? For manual focus and moving plants it may be necessary to use a tripod.
