Young Grey Heron

When I approached the loch this morning the young Heron was standing on a concrete pipe looking towards the entrance. The pipe is in the water behind the fence that runs round the loch. I saw her head go up so knew she had seen me. I assumed she was gong to jump down into the water but she flew over the fence and started walking to meet me. I always get a bit nervous for her when she is out of the water as there are so many dog walkers. Also the hard path can't be good for her beak. I walked onto the grass and she followed me. I was just about to feed her when a dog came over. She flew back over the fence and waited until I got there to finish feeding her.
