Young Grey Heron

The young Heron was watching from the top of the dovecote and flew down as soon as she saw me. I was about halfway through feeding her when a woman unclipped her small terrier from its leash. It made straight for the young one who was off like a shot. When I went down to the water's edge I could not see her. I went onto the viewing platform and saw her head popping up between the reeds. I mad my way to her feeding spot and saw her slowly coming towards me. She had the rest of her food and seemed much more herself by the time I left.
