There is a street sign in our area indicating the way to 'Zürcher Champignons', which is funny because 'Zürcher Champignons' means 'mushrooms of Zurich' (but we're in Bern). It's obviously referring to a mushroom producer called Zürcher. To make matters worse, in French — and we're not far from the language border — 'champignon' simply means 'mushroom'. The specific mushroom that we call 'champignon' in German is called 'champignon de Paris' in French.
So, as I sat on my bike reflecting on mushrooms and their provenance, I suddenly discovered the reason for the incorrectly named mushrooms. The 'Champignon de Berne' is clearly this variety!

Tiljans Maybe the variety of Paris is the same as the Berne variiety... Anyway all varieties are good!
