This is it, shutter closed! Day after day, I took 3k photos and shared a visual representation of my daily life. Some time ago I had to take a break from tookapic – life happened – but this time it's on my terms. Hunting for a frame and capturing one each and every day became my habit. It helped me think about photography and kept me inspired. I wouldn't have taken many nice photos if it weren't for tookapic.
Yet, I realized this is not pushing me any further. From an awkward but interesting habit, it silently evolved into a routine and a chore. Snap something, and off you go. I know many other photographers I admired here went through exactly the same process. I don't have any particular plan, other than to work on my huge photo backlog. Some of my "unfinished" sessions are over a year old – not happy about that. But I hope that now, being "liberated" from the tookapic habit, I will find some creativity in me. Less pictures, more photos taken with purpose.
That said, I am really glad I came across this community over 9 years ago. Maybe one day I will come back or restart a 365 project in some other form. Until then, I'd be very happy to see you on my Instagram (instagram.com/zespol.niespokoj...), though I am not a social-media person. And, of course, my portfolio page (1pixel.pl), with curated photos from mixed genres – I still can't define which is "mine", so I try whatever I feel like might be fun.
Take care, and let the good light be with you. Thank you, tookapic!
