bvphotosnap Thanks so much @Margie ACR stands for Adobe Camera Raw which opens NEF RAW files before it goes into Photoshop. Usually I bring my file into that program and use the "lens correction" tab to help with the lens distortion and then in the "basic" tab I slid the black slider to +33 to lighten the blacks a bit. Then it opens the file in PS and I cropped in tight :)

Satoshi T FYI: Original purpose of Red filter was to cut the smog of sky and to emphasize contrast of landscape far away.so B&W film era people took dramatic mountain photographs using Red filters. Now, we use PL filter for same purpose on color photography. :)

I just googled it and there is more to this than I can devote to it right now, but something along the line of in the post-processing...swapping the red and blue channels. I exposed in camera properly I just didn't do the editing the way it was meant. But thank you for pointing me in the right direction!! :)
