Kazzi How do You merge those exposures? :> I'm a greenhorn in shooting night sky and I'm gonna need it three weeks from now while visiting Iceland

tigg My lovely Olympus EM1 does it in camera for me. I have no idea how to donut in Photoshop. I think some of the tough series have the feature too. So easy, worth trying to buy or borrow for your trip.

Kazzi I have a borrowed E-M5 Mark II until Friday, but I'll try to postpone giving it back:) thanks!

tigg I think that is the answer. Have you played with the Live Composite setting at all?

Kazzi yup, I did - but not with merging short exposures, but with using it to do one, long - but not overburned. I'll dig into camera menus, any hint where it is hidden will be appreciated!

Ian Prince Interesting, I didn't know that was a built-in feature of some of the Oly bodies. How did the battery handle so many shots in the cold outside?

tigg No problem at all - I have done a lot longer actually. I wonder if the firmware update for the EM5 Mark I enable it? This is what I was hoping you might do whilst you still have the 7mm. Very expensive lens - £999 here - has to be very good to be worth it. Is it?

Ian Prince Well, there's certainly lots to like: super sharp, very little distortion for a UWA, 2.8 aperture, weather-proofing and built quality. Downsides are quite a lots of flare, size....and price. Totally justifiable if you're a "pro"...which I'm not. As I seem to favor the lens at 7mm, the 7.5mm Rokinon at a quarter the price and a third of the weight is the more rational choice.

tigg Is that the same as the Samyang?

Ian Prince I believe so
