Unfortunately, Tokyo is not a bike-friendly.
There are Only sidewalk and the way for car, and both narrow.
Bike does not have own position.
Until 2013, basically, bike is determined to run slowly on the sidewalk and sport type bike can run way for car fast.I thought it's reasonable.
2013, In the stupid new law, ALL bike was decided to the road for car! The sign in this photo means "Bike don't run on sidewalk".
Today, I saw interesting scene.
Many police officers on the bike run fast on sidewalk! Of cource illegal. An old man said a complaint with the police officer. police officer said "It's dangerous to run road for car."
I think that should be discarded a stupid law. X(
