jazzie For non polish people: What‘s going on concerning radios in Poland? Cool pic anyway!
Marta Tomaszewska We had a great public FM radio named "Trójka" but our government is not so great and year after year there were more conflict between the team and upper management. In April last year one known polish band Kult released a song pointing out things against our leading party leader. And this song won Trójka hits list. And there was request from top to cancel this edition (it was 1998 edition, everyone was preparing for 2000). This made many redactors quitting that radio, After two months of fundraising first internet radio (Nowy Świat - New World) was created with part of Trojka team. And now in January the second one (357 as the street number of Trójka), also with fundraising.
That's whole story. There was a moment when I was pretty sure that we'll abolish our government because of single song, but unfortunately it didn't happen. But it destroyed the most independent and valuable public radio in Poland.
