Jennifer Yes, my Nikon died as I was coming up the steps. :( Luckily, my phone did an okay job in its place! I was working on that lantern too, but what happened was when it was more pronounced, the whole dark area became visibly filled with people and trash cans and things like that, so I opted to keep them out. I'll try some cropping and see how I feel. :)

Richard Morwood wowsers this looks great! I love the colours and how you have filled the frame. EXIF info says this was shot on a phone camera so great work on keeping the image so sharp in a night shot. I really like the silhouette of the lantern in the lower right and wish you had taken a step to your right so it would have been pronounced more. I also like the lower third being nearly at eye level but wish I could see something in the black area. Granted this is at night so there wouldn't have been much you could do about it with your phone only, perhaps cropped a bit?
