jerseyshawn Mother birds kick them out before they can fly because predators stalk nests! So this little one is fine with the parents watching and feeding it. I had blue jays a few years in a row and was lucky enough to watch them "fall out" and hop away. By the end of the day, they could do little flights!

Lauren Huston Yeah I know it's likely the natural order of things. Just stressful because it's next to a busy highway and tram line!

But very cool that you got to experience that. :)
