Marta Kalina My first thought after I see the photo: wow - amazing!
After I read description: WOW!!!
I would like to see how you prepare all that staff. Photo is brilliant! :D

Katrina Yu Thank you, Marta.

Here you go: imgur.com/a/AaEHO
It's composed of a lot of photos. There's the ugly tree painting (I'm no Bob Ross) but with 1.4 aperture it looks adequate! :D Then I use a black paper for the snow so it's easier to cut them out and also to overlay them later on for texture (snow fall etc. I took around 10 different shapes of snow). Then there's the photo of the subject. The things that weren't mine in the photo are the snowflakes and steam. They're both photoshop brushes. I felt it's more magical to add it there so I added it. Hope it helps explain the process!! :D

Paweł Kadysz This is amazing!

Marta Kalina One more time - WOW !
Katrina, thank you very much for explanation and photos of "backstage"! :D When you are writing about it is sound so simple! You are really genius Artist! :D
Paweł is definitely right - its amazing!

Bruce Phenomenal! Did I even spell that right. So tell us what the actual temp is where you live so we can be even more impressed 😊

Katrina Yu haha!! Thanks, Bruce. It averages at 86-87F right now (and it's December!!). I was already starting to sweat while taking this.

Bruce And you had to wear a sweater for the shot in that heat .... the things we have to do for our art :-). Wonderful image if I haven't said that 100x already :-)

Bruce BTW, I do speak Celcius haha.

Katrina Yu Hahaha! Oh yes. Canada right. I wrote Celcius at first then change it at the last minute. 🙈🙈🙈🙈

Ron Dadoo better than here with the real snow

Katrina Yu Baking soda makes great snow and cleans wonderfully!! :D :D

vera Oh I'm cold when I see you sitting in the snow with a little summer dress... grrrr... Here in Switzerland we are in the snow... I could send you a true snowman made by my son in the garden... ;D What a work for one pic! Great!

Katrina Yu Thank you, Vera. A snowman photo? That'll be so cool! :D Sending warmth your way!!!

Magda Korzewska Katrina I absolutely love it, last days you are OMG I do not know how to say, gorgeous, pure art , real beauty. You should be proud of yourself.

Katrina Yu Thank you so much for this, Magda!!! Growth happens in such small increments that I don't really notice and had been a little hard on myself with my art lately. So thank you for this, for reminding me that we also need to look back and see how far we've come. <3

Ian Forbes Not sure which I'm impressed with more the picture or the snowman you made.

Katrina Yu Thank you, Ian! Should be the snowman. I don't do them every day. :p :D

Gosia I also do origami when I need to blow off some steam! It really works! And then you can use it in pictures. Win win! <3 Love the scene, it's sweet with the snowman and it feels cold cold cold <3

Katrina Yu Thank you dear!! I'm not that good with origami though so I'll leave that crown to you. 👑 ❤️
