I moved into this house in March 1976 with my mother and father; the year I sat my O levels. Many of you will know that Mum died just over 3 years ago, and that we had nearly sold the house when we had a massive burst. December 2022 Husband took the house on, mum's estate was wound up, and repair work started. We finally exchanged contracts for sale yesterday, and we complete tomorrow. So goodbye home - husband had just read the meters in the garage. 48 years is a long time. And the weirdest thing - today would have been mum's birthday.

Ian Prince I can definitely imagine how emotional it feels letting go of a house filled with so many memories. Memory and place are so intertwined…
I’m guessing you can maintain some of that with your photos taken there.

Ian Prince Like you I rarely look at past pics. But I find it reassuring that they are “there”.
