Satoshi T For me, the fact that the freedom of the lenses -including old lenses- is biggest merit of the Millerless. DSLR has long flange back, so for example, I can not use BIOGON if I want to use it.

jazzie I'd recommend a mirrorless - otherwise as soon as the beginner is no more a beginner he'll get into the next camera store and spend a lot of money. If you don't want to spend too much money you can buy a good body (big sensor) with kit lenses and once you want to get a better quality out of the cam you 'only' need to buy a new lens. Since I don't possess a dslr I don't know what's the advantage compared to a mirrorless. But the guy who sold me my camera explained that he doesn't find reasons any more to sell more expensive dslr's since the mirrorless have become so good and have the better live view if you're not a viewfinder-junkie 😄

Marcin N Woźniak Mirrorless. Quality of dslr with compact body.
