Been visit Funk Town for a while now. Please don't confuse Funk Town with Funky Town. The latter is a an expression for the simple, repetitive yearning for the pulse of a bigger city (possibly goosed by a killer ten-note synth riff). The former is the result of boredom and the lack of energy and inspiration to do anything of note.
To help escape this Funk, I'm taking part in a weekly photography challenge on reddit (r/clondon52). Week 1: Setting Goals.
I'm not one for New Year's Resolutions (mostly because I'm lazy), however, I did go ahead and make four S-M-A-R-T goals for the year. In no particular order:
-
Maintain 3 - 2 - 1 Backups: Three copies of my catalog, stored on at least two different mediums, one of which is offsite. I'll be using my PC and two external hard drives. It's just the Offsite that's the challenge at the moment.
-
Stop Relying on my Cellphone: Sure, that's a time and place for celltography (the 'I need a quick pic of this' scenario). Last year I spent away too much time using my phone instead of my camera. Over 50% of my Tookapics were with my cellphone. So, I'm gonna stop being lazy and pick up the DSLR.
-
Continue to Post Daily: Simple. Keep on with the Tookapic. On top of that, I'm going to attempt to be more involved in the community by commenting more often (startin' off easy with one comment a week.
-
Create Card-worthy Images: In the back of my head I've always wanted to see my pictures on note cards. This year I'm going to push myself to make it happen. One photo a week will be of Print-worthy Quality.
Okay. I think that's about it for now.
Lauren Huston Good luck! Hope you get your groove back. :)
