bye-bye

I made a rather spontaneous decision today. It comes as a surprise to me too, although I've felt for some time that I no longer take inspired photographs. For a long time I hoped that the ideas would come back if I just took pics every day for a long enough time, but with a few exceptions that didn't happen. The fact that the platform has been bogging down for quite some time and the change in ownership isn't providing the boost I was hoping for isn't helping provide inspiration either.

Looking back, there were some things that wouldn't have happened without Tookapic - the whole series with the Tiny People and the project with the writer; Pulpo helping me through the lockdown; and the Beetle popping up every now and then for a project are a few examples. I learned a lot about photography, lighting and post processing.

· met @120mr for a long walk and good conversations in my home

· met @tigg and her family who also cheered me up during my quarantine.

· got to know @Satoshi I never met in person but like many others here I had a relationship with him that felt personal before he disappeared. It was the community that kept me here for so long. I was surprised by the fact that virtual friends could become real ones, connected 'only' by a shared passion, photography. Thank you!

It is with a heavy heart that I have cancelled my account and will no longer be able to post or participate in discussions after Sunday. Maybe I'll come back if something changes around here. I hope that I would find out!
