How much time do you spend on your pictures? (Challenge)

Hey everyone! It's me again, and I have a challenge for anyone who want to participate! Now this is not really a difficult challenge, but you can make it more difficult if you want. I challenge you guys, to spend 10 more minutes than you usually do on at least on picture in your week, and I promise you, you will see a lot of improvement! So let's say on Saturdays you are don't have too much going and you usually spend 10 minutes on your pictures. Now you are up to 20 minutes on Saturdays, but let's say you had a great Idea for a picture and you get the picture easily in about 5 minutes, you can use that extra time to experiment with your camera! If you do this, I promise you that your picture quality will go up dramatically!

Easy: One day a week 10 extra minutes

Medium: Three days a week 15 extra minutes

Hard: Five days a week 30 extra minutes

Jesse Lind I have been doing this for the past couple days, and my photos have gotten a loooot better!

Edit: If you accept the Challenge you can use the 'Itookmytime' tag on the pictures you took you time on :)

Fan haha!

tigg I would say that your photos have gone in a different direction. Yours were always good, you know I've said that before, but you are being very creative now. But you are right of course! Polar opposite to a streak photo .....

Kevin Drum I assume you mean extra minutes during shooting (and not ten extra minutes in Lightroom or whatever)?

Joost van Halm Nice Challenge Jesse!

Taking time for your picture always leads to paying more attention to finer details, camera settings, lighting, angle, location (is it exactly the way you want it to be). It's like working with expensive film: If you get to take only one picture, you will make sure everything is right before taking 1/125th of a second to shoot it. For me it depends on what i'm doing, sometimes you have to do something really quickly because the moment passes. On the other hand, if you have a concept for a picture in your mind and you are not on a clock: don't take 10, 15 or 20 minutes more, take all the time you've got!

I don't mean to say you are wrong, I will accept the challenge! We should agree on an nice tag so we can see each others progress. Any suggestions? 'itookmytime'?

Jesse Lind That is true! I understand what you mean and I agree

Joost van Halm Great Jesse,
Shall we go with itookmytime, or do you have something more creative in mind?

Jesse Lind I think Itookmytime is fine :)

Andrew Hutchinson Hello All,
New user, and I decided to take some time to look around the comments. I really like the challenge here and I accept :) In the last few days I have noticed that I am taking more time already, and being much more mindful when I am taking a photo, which is part of the reason I decided to do a project. I like itookmytime as a tag, so that gets my vote.

Joost van Halm Welcome! I will check out your photos...

Mihir Probably not on the weekdays but will be def trying on the weekends to give some more thought before clicking the shutter.

Joost van Halm Started today! Check it out: "f/5.6"
