Looking for a macro lens
Well... the title basically explains it, I'm looking for a macro lens. I have seen tons of awesome macro photographs here on tookapic, and I was wondering if you guys could let me know what macro lens you use. Thanks everyone! Jesse

Satoshi T I consider your camera body - Canon EOS 600D - I recommend my favorite 100mm F2.8 macro USM. When you use it with cheap 25mm extension tube, you can more close up object with automatic aperture and focus. Especially Now, New model - L lens with IS - released , Its actual sales price and used prices is drops. Likely to buy. :). ALL of my macro pics on tookapic is taken by 100mm F2.8 macro USM :) ...and I also recommend to buy Hero card :)

Satoshi T You can add Extension tube with 70-300 4-5.6 USM. now you can 0.26x1.6(because APS-C sensor) macro, if you use 25mm Ext.tube, you can 0.46x1.6 macro. caution: with Ext.tube, you can not shoot far object.
Satoshi T Ext.tube is only tube with electronic connection- without any lens -. So as very easy simulation, you may cut the paper with about 1 inch, and it to round as tube, and put between lens and camera. if you control zoom ring and focus ring, you will be experienced how you feel before you buy the Ext.tube.

For 600D I'd reccomend (almost random order, cause all macro lenses are perfectly sharp):
- Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8
- Tamron 60mm f/2.8
- Canon 100mm f/2.8L
- Tamron 90mm f/2.8 VC
- Sigma 105mm f/2.8 OS
- Canon 100mm f/2.8 non-L (USM)
Maciek Korsan I'm using old manual lens with macro rings (~10$ solution). Everything is full manual, but the results are fine ;)
Targenor Lind I use inverted Helios 44m-4 or normal mounted but with extension rings

Grace Hi Jesse, probably won't help if you are a canon user, but I use Nikon 105mm f/2.8G AF-S IF-ED VR Micro, I got it second hand and its great.
