Amazing candid photography of Alexander Petrosyan

The Russia you'll never see on postcards...
Street photographer Alexander Petrosyan has spent decades discovering what makes his home town tick: the everyday drama of a city built on contradictions.

My friend sent me a link to this article. I can't get over how brilliant these images are. It basically shows me two things:

  1. It's important to always have a camera with you
  2. The best gear, studio and planning are not enough for taking great photos. The best way to shoot interesting and new things is to look for new places and people to photograph, to go out there and explore.

Just thought I'd share. What do you think?

Rafał Garbarz it is amazing how hi can tell stories ! and create the world.

thanks for sharing his work with me

Ian Prince Very impressive work. I can see how he was inspired by Henri Cartier-Bresson.

Satoshi T I've thought about best gear, studio and planning... but it taught me that surprise is out of my plan! Thanks for sharing it @Alek !

Alek Jedliński You're welcome @Satoshi !

tania Maybe we can work on different plans : studio photos are good to try, experiment new things and control light. On the other way, going out without purpose bring us out of our confort zone and sometimes bring us super surprises.

Alek Jedliński That's true Tania! And studio vs street seem like totally different photography worlds.
